WHAT IS THIS PROJECT?
We will be filming "ALL OF THE ABOVE," one of the numbers from our musical "ROOFLESS." This footage will be included in our "Roofless" pitch package which will be shopped to NYC theatrical producers and presenters. We will also be pitching a "Making of" documentary/webseries in which this footage may also eventually appear. ("Roofless" theatrical agent: Ron Gwiazda, Abrams and Associates, NYC)
Internationally known Body Percussionist / Choreographer Khalid "Khalid Greens" Freeman ("Stomp! Out Loud" "Stomp the Yard" I & II, The LXD, Cirque du Soleil) will be joining us for this performance while he is in Tulsa with the Michael Jackson Immortal World Tour.
We will be pre-recording the song & will perform along with playback. We will also film a live a cappella performance as well. We'll choose the best performance or combine the two in editing.
The song is a rap with an cappella vocal hook, with body percussion accompaniment. It will be fully staged. Vocalists should be able to read notation (or learn by rote very very quickly.) Vocalists will not necessarily need to learn choreography. Dancers will need to have basic singing ability & will be singing and dancing simultaneously in some cases. (or lip-syncing)
VOCALISTS: 2 to 4 hours of rehearsal within the first 2 weeks of January, We will be recording within this same time frame. You will be joining the full cast for 2 to 4 more hours of rehearsal from Feb 12 - 15. Tech/Dress Rehearsal will take place on Thursday Feb 16, 8 - 11pm. Filming on Feb 17, 5pm - till finished. Approx midnite (?) Finalized calendar will be posted here as soon as its available .
DANCERS: Feb 3rd, 7 - 10pm, 12th, 5 - 8pm. Tech/Dress Rehearsal will take place on Thursday Feb 16, 8 - 11pm. Filming on Feb 17, 5pm - till finished. Approx midnite (?) Finalized calendar will be posted here as soon as its available .
LOCATION:
Movement 918 Dance Studio. 124 North Greenwood, Suite G, Tulsa Ok 74120.
COMPENSATION:
No monetary compensation. Digital copy of final video edit & production photos. Wide Industry exposure. Our agent will be pitching "Roofless" to top Broadway producers and presenters in NYC & LA, including celebrity names in Hip-hop/Urban Music Industry. (Of interest to dancers, "Roofless" will also be shopped to Jon M. Chu as a potential webseries for his new Online premium channel.) All performers will be fully credited. Food will be provided on the shoot day.
Wardrobe Note:
The footage will have a "rehearsal vibe" so cast will wear their own clothes, within a provided color palette.
REHEARSAL NO-SHOWS WILL IMMEDIATELY BE CUT FROM THE PROJECT AND REPLACED. (If you have schedule conflicts let us know as early as possible and we'll try to work with you.)
